Status Orange wind weather warning for Donegal

Met Eireann has issued a , Galway, Mayo and Sligo on Wednesday evening and night and for a time on Thursday morning.

South to southwest winds veering westerly, associated with Storm Hector, will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/hr with gusts of 110 to 125 km/hr. Winds will be strongest in coastal areas.

Due to the fast moving nature of the depression and the forecasted high tides for the Donegal Bay area, there is potential for very high winds in localised areas especially in the Donegal bay area.

Donegal County Council is urging the public to take extra care when outdoors during this weather event.

Night time Temporary Road Closure Finn Bridge

Night time Temporary Road Closure Finn Bridge

The Finn Bridge on the N15 between Ballybofey and Stranorlar will be temporarily closed overnight to facilitate a series of bridge lifts on the N15 as part of the ongoing programme of works on the bridge.



The closures will take place from 8pm to 6am from Tuesday 12 June to Friday 15 June and again from Tuesday 19 June to Friday 22 June.



The alternative route for the primary and HGV diversion for the duration of each overnight closure is as follows:



From Stranorlar: Mill Brae - Navenny Street – Trusk Road – Townview Heights

From Donegal: Townview Heights – Trusk Road - Navenny Street – Mill Brae



Local arrangements and temporary traffic management will be put in place to advise local road users of alternative routes for the duration of each closure and Donegal County Council is asking all roads users to follow the traffic management arrangements being implemented.
