Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

L-3418 from Macroom Town toward Ballinagree from Glasheen Cross to Coolnidane Cross.



Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.30hrs on Monday 12th August, 2019 to 17.00hrs on Friday 16th August, 2019

(Daily Closure)



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Road Resurfacing and Associated Works



Alternative Routes

Northbound Traffic: At Masseytown Junction on the N22, follow the N22 west to its junction with the R-582 at Millstreet Cross. Follow the R-582 north west to its junction with the L-3417 at Mount Cross. Follow the L-3417 east until it meets the L-3418 at Coolniddane Cross.



The same route applies in reverse.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-131-19, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 23rd June 2019. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Diversion route will be along the R619 at Crean’s Cross and on to the L2752 Kerry Road.  This route is also applicable in reverse.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure where possible.

Westbound Traffic: At Crookstown follow the R-590 west towards the Stage Cross on the N22. Follow the N22 west towards Harnett Cross. At Harnetts Cross follow the R-584 to Toons Bridge. At Toons Bridge follow the R-587 to Gloun Cross. Rejoin the R-585 heading west.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Traffic traveling from Newmarket to Rockchapel - Divert at Coolagh Bridge onto the R578 towards Ballydesmond. Continue on R578 until Glash Bridge and turn right onto L-1012 signposted for Abbeyfeale. Continue on the L-1012/L-1003 to R576 at Tado’s Cross and turn right for Rockchapel, or turn left for traffic travelling onto Kerry/Limerick.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
