TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-



Covid 19 Social Distancing Measures



BANDON TOWN



Road Subject of Closure

L-2055-0, Bridge Lane, Bandon (from its junction with South Main Street to its junction with Market Quay).



Period of Closure

From 08.00hrs on Monday 29th June, 2020 to 18.00hrs on Wednesday 30th of September, 2020 (24hr Closure).



Reason for Closure

To facilitate Covid 19 - Designated Social Distancing Area



Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access Bridge Lane from its South Main Street Junction, will divert onto Pearse Street (R-603-0), shall now be allowed to turn right onto L-2057-0 in the direction of St Patrick’s Quay, follow the street as approaching the road closure from the opposite side.



Traffic intending to access Bridge Lane from its south junction, will be diverted west along St Patrick’s Quay (L-2057-0), then turn right onto Market Street (R-603-0), then turn right on to South Main Street (R603-0), continue on as approaching the closed street from the opposite side.



Access to car park on Bridge Lane will remain.





KINSALE TOWN

4.     L-97200 Crowley’s Quay, Kinsale



Period of Closure

1. Short Quay L-32340

From 08:00hrs on Monday 29th June, 2020 to 18:00hrs on Wednesday 30th September, 2020 (Daily Closure).



2. Trial closures of L-9720-0 Main Street (including L-9719-0 Market St.) from L-9721-0 Upper O’Connell St. (& Market Square) to Crowley’s Quay.

From 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs on Sunday 21st June, 2020 (Daily Closure).



3. Main Street L-9720-0 from Emmet Place to Crowley’s Quay

From 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs on Sundays only during the period from Sunday 5th July, 2020 to Sunday 27th September, 2020, including both dates, (Daily Closure).



4. L-9720-0 Main Street including L-9719-0 Market St. from L-9721-0 Upper O’Connell St. & Market Square to Emmet Place.

From 08:00hrs to 18:00hrs on Sundays only during the period from Sunday 5th July, 2020 to Sunday 27th September, 2020, including both dates, (Daily Closure).



Reason for Closure

Temporary pedestrianisation of streets during the summer season to assist both with National Social Distancing Guidelines and the re-opening of businesses. The overall objective is to create Pedestrian Priority Zones within the Town Centre thereby promoting a Covid Safe Environment on our public streets that is mutually beneficial to both the Town’s people, visitors and businesses. The initiative is mindful of the national restrictions on travel and the likely significant reduction in visitor numbers that will ensue as a result of same.



Alternative Routes

Closure (1) Short Quay:- Proceed via R-600 Emmet Place turning onto R-605-98 Pearce St. turning left onto L-3234-0 Market St. at the White House.



Closure (2) Main St. & Market St. (trial closure Sun 21st June 2020):- Proceed via L-3234 Market Sq. turning onto R-605-98 Pearce St. at the White House. Follow R600 south bound to Crowley’s Quay or Denis Quay. This diversion route operates in reverse. L-9721-0 Upper O’Connell St. remains open from Guardwell to Denis Quay but is unsuitable for large vans, HGVs etc.



Closure (3):- Follow R600 south bound to Crowley’s Quay or Denis Quay. This diversion route operates in reverse. L-9721-0 Upper O’Connell St. remains open from Guardwell to Denis Quay but is unsuitable for large vans, HGVs etc.



Closure (3) & (4) combined Main St. & Market St. (trial closure Sun 21st June 2020):-Proceed via L-3234 Market Sq. turning onto R-605-98 Pearce St. at the White House. Follow R600 south bound to Crowley’s Quay or Denis Quay. This diversion route operates in reverse. L-9721-0 Upper O’Connell St. remains open from Guardwell to Denis Quay but is unsuitable for large vans, HGVs etc.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure for deliveries (07:00hrs to 10:00hrs) and those with special needs. A special reduced statutory speed limit of 30kph shall apply to all pedestrianised streets.
