ROADS ACT, 1993

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:-



Roads of Proposed Closure

L-2027-0(Part) & L-2028-0, Clancool Terrace & St Bridget’s Terrace, Bandon.

Phase I”, L-2027-0 (Part), from its junction with Richmond Cross to its junction with N71 Clonakilty Road (1st junction west of Hewitts Bridge).

Phase II”, L-2028-0, From Richmond Cross junction to Railway Bridge Cross junction.



Either “Phase I” or “Phase II” closure shall only be in operation at any given time.



Period of Closure

From 07.00hrs Monday 4th November 2019 to 19:00hrs Wednesday 18th December 2019.

(24 hour Closure)



Reason for Closure

To facilitate Pipeline Construction



Alternative Routes

During “Phase I” Road Closure, traffic intending accessing L-2027-0 from the N71 (Clonakilty Road) shall be diverted east along the N71-1001, then take the 2nd exit on the mini roundabout onto N71-1013, take a right on to L-2028-0 at Railway Cross Bridge, follow the road along Clancool Terrace until you reach Richmond Cross located at the opposite side of the road closure.



During “Phase II” Road Closure, traffic intending accessing L-2028-0 from Richmond Cross, will be diverted north along the L-2027-0, at the next junction take a right onto N71-1001, then take the 2nd exit on the mini roundabout onto N71 -1013, follow the road approaching the road closure from opposite side at Railway Bridge Cross.



The above diversion routes are applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.



Local access to be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
