Unplanned Water Outage Bagenalsown Town Centre.

Carlow County Council wish to advise consumers that due to essential upgrade works on the watermain in Kilcarrig Street, Bagenalstown that the water supply serving Bagenalstown Town Centre, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow will be shut down on Wednesday, 21st June, 2017 between the hours of 10.00am and 5.00pm.

Carlow County Council and Irish Water apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Ferns - Water Supply Interruption, 19th June

Water Interruption – Ferns, 19th June.

Water supply will be interrupted intermittently in Ferns today, 19th June, from 10:00 to 16:00 due to leak repairs at Ferns Upper. Interruptions should not last more than 15 – 20 minutes.

Areas affected: Ferns Upper,  Main Street, Station Road, Ferns Lower, Ferns Demesne, Castleland, Pairc Mhuire, Berryfields, Alder Court.

A traffic management plan will be in operation at Ferns Upper.

Air locks, pressure fluctuations and / or discolouration of water may be experienced when supply is restored. 06 2017

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council that the water supply served by Ballinlough Loughglynn public water scheme is contaminated with Cryptosporidium. On the advice of the Health Service Executive, a is being issued. Accordingly, in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Loughglynn water scheme boil water before use.

Water must be boiled for:

  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice
Areas Affected include Ballinlough, Cloonfad, Trien, Cloonkeen, Cloonbunny, Silverfield, Cloonagh, Tonragee, Garanlahan Lowberry and all townlands surrounding these. Semi Private Group schemes served by the public water supply are also affected.
