TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS



NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 that the following road will be closed to public traffic for the dates and times stated:

Saturday 29th September 2018 to Sunday 30th September 2018



Stages 1 & 3: Cobblers Cross

Saturday 29th September 2018 (08:39hrs to 14.15hrs)



   Roads to be Closed

From the junction of the L-6000-0 and L-6001-0 at Ardaneneen to the junction of the L-2004 and L-2003 at Coolduff via Teereeven, Greenville, Rossnakilla, Knockane, Clearagh, Garranereagh, Cobblers Cross, Curraclogh and Coolduff.

L-6008-28 (Part), L-6007-0, L-6009-0 (Part), L-6009-27, L-2004-0 (Part).



Alternative routes:

For traffic travelling south or west from Poulanargid divert east towards Kilmurry/Crookstown via the L-2001, divert southeast along the L-2003 to Beal na Blath and west along the R-585. For Terelton follow the L-4603 north off the R-585.



For traffic travelling north or east remain on the R-585. For Terelton follow the L-4603. For Kilmurry or Poulanargid follow the L-2003 from Beal na Blath.





Stages 2 and 4: Lissarda

Saturday 29th September 2018 (09:25hrs to 14:56hrs)



   Roads to be Closed

From the Junction of the L-2203, L-6216 and L-6217 North of Farran Church to the junction of the L-2201 and L-6200 at Ballytrasna via Farran, Aglish, Rooves More, Rooves Beg, Knockavullig, Mahallagh, Killinardrish, Shandangan East, Bawnatemple, Lehenagh and Ballytrasna.

L-6216-0, L-62141-0, L-6213-0, R-619(Part), L-2201-43, L-6204-0, L-6203-0, L-2200-0, L-6200-22, L-6200-0.



Alternative routes:

From Carrigadrohid to Coachford via the R618. Coachford to Currahaly via the R619 and L-2202, L-2203 and L-2204 and onto Crookstown via the N22 and R585.





Stages 5 and 7: Cill na Martra

Saturday 29th September 2018 (12:58hrs to 18:37hrs)



Roads to be Closed:

From the junction of the L-7433-59 with the L-7437-20 at Cluain Clod to the junction of the L-3403 with the R584 at Inse Geimhleach via Cluain Clod, Silvergrove, An Lios Buí Mór, Na Cúlacha, Cnoc Sathairn, Cill Mic Cranróg, Cluain Ti Cairtig, An Leac Mhór, Doire an Aonaigh, Claonráth Theas, Dereen, Derryvane, Carrigleigh.



Road Numbers:

L-7433-59, L-7433-26, L-7436-0, L-7434-28, L-7434-0, L-7433-0, L-3403-7, L-3403-34, L-3403-54.



Alternative Routes:

For traffic travelling north from Inchigeelagh follow the R-584 west to Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh and the L-3402 to Ré na nDoirí.

For traffic travelling west from Toons Bridge, follow the R-584 east to Ceimatarbh, L-3412-0 and the L-3408-34 west to Cill na Martra.

For traffic travelling south, both routes also apply in reverse.





Stages 6 & 8: Lough Allua

Saturday 29th September 2018 (13.42hrs to 19.17hrs)



Roads to be Closed:

From the junction of the R584 and L-4608 at Inchinossig Bridge to the junction of the L-4606 with R587 at Dromleigh( Kilmichael ) Oileán Eidhneach Thiar, Oileán Eidhneach Thoir, Caolmhagh Beag, Inse idir Dha Aill, Gortnarea, Coornahahilly, Lagneeve, Gortaknockane, Cooragreenane, Curraheen, Cappanclare, Carrignacurra, Dromnagapple, Teeranassig, Clonmoyle Dromleigh.



Road Numbers:

L-4608, L-4607 (Part), L-4606



Alternative Routes:

From Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh to Dromleigh (Kilmichael) via the R584 east to Inchigeelagh, to Tooms Bridge Junction. At Tooms Bridge Junction turn right and continue south along R587 in to Dromleigh (Kilmichael).

This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse when travelling from Dromleigh (Kilmichael) to Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh.





Stages 9 & 11: Mushera

Sunday 30th September 2018 (08.06hrs to 13.32hrs)



Roads to be Closed:

From the junction of the L-3418 and the L-7459 at Kilnagurteen (Macroom) to the junction of the L-5248 with the L-7443 and the L-5229 at Knocknakilla via Kilnagurteen, Kilboultragh, Mullenroe, Cackanode, Scrhanard, Monaflugh, Maulnahorna, Cushloura, Knocknakilla.

L-7459, L-3417 (Part), L-7447 (Part), L-7444 (Part), L-3419 (Part), L-5248



Alternative Routes:

At the junction of the L-3418 and the L-7459 at Kilnagurteen continue south along the L-3418 to the junction with the N22. Turn right onto the N22 and continue west to the junction with the R582. Turn right onto the R582 and continue north via Carriganima to the junction with the L-7442. Turn right onto the L-7442 and continue north to the junction with the L-7443 and continue north to the junction with the L-5248 at Knocknakilla. This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.





Stages 10 & 12: Butter Road

Sunday 30th September 2018 (08.38hrs to 14.02hrs)



Roads to be Closed:

From the junction of the L-7466 and the L-3418 at Ballinagree West to the junction of the L-5246 with the L-5229 at Cloghboola Beg via Ballinagree West, Knocknagappul, Mushera, Lackdotia, Cloghboola Beg.

L-7461, L-2750 (Part), L-1123 (Part), L-1124 (Part), L-5246



Alternative Route:

At the junction of the L-3418 and the L-2750 at Annagannihy continue south along the L-3418 via Macroom to the junction with the N22. Turn right onto the N22 and continue west to the junction with the R582. Turn right onto the R582 and continue north via Carriganima to Millstreet. This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.





Stages 13 & 15: Mullaghanish

Sunday 30th September 2018 (12.19hrs to 18.01hrs)



Roads to be Closed:

From the junction of the L-3409 and the L-7420 at hUláin Thoir to the junction of the L-7423 with the R582 at Maulnagrough and from there to the Junction of the L-7423 with the L-3409 at Caherkeegane via hUláin Thoir, Daingean na Saileach, Lios Carragáin, Curraleigh, Garranecarney, Maulnagrough, Gortnagishagh, Carrigonirtane, Cabragh, Killmountain, Lacktify, Caherkeegane.



Road Numbers:

L-7420, L-7422 (Part), L-7423



Alternative Routes:

At the junction of the R582 and the L-7423 at Maulnagrough continue south along the R582 via Carriganima to the junction with the L-3409 at Teerbeg. Turn right onto the L-3409 and continue west via Cluain Droichead to the junction with the L-7420 at Na hUláin Thoir. This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.





Stages 14 & 16: Na Foithrí

Sunday 30th September 2018 (12.52hrs to 18.36hrs)



Roads to be Closed:

The L-3400-32 west of Coolea to the junction of the L-3401 with the L-3402 at Gort na Binne via Cúil Aodha, Doire an Chuilinn , An Lománach Bheag, Foithrí, An Doire Leathan, Cathair na Cáithe, Gort na Binne..

Alternative Routes:

For traffic travelling west of Cúil Aodha, at Cúil Aodha divert east along the L-3400 to the junction with the N22. Follow the N22 west to the junction with the R-569. Follow the R-569 to Droichead Uí Mhórdha and follow the L-3021 to the Top of Coom.

For traffic travelling east from the Top of Coom, the same route applies in reverse.

In addition, all adjoining public roads will be closed for a distance of 200 metres from the junctions with the roads listed above.
