Proposed Road Closure L1119 Knockgorm Kilcorney




Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

Road subject of proposed closure:

The L-1119 from its junction with the L-1028 at Lyons Bridge, to the junction with the L-1124 at Moll McCarthy’s Bridge.

Period of proposed closure:

From 08.00hrs Monday 3rd December 2018 to 18.00hrs Friday 21st December 2018.

Reason for proposed closure:

To facilitate Rehabilitation of Watermains

Alternative Routes:

Vehicles travelling to Lyre should continue on the R583 at Priests Cross and turn right onto the L-1120 at Coole Cross towards Banteer. At Fortgrady Cross the vehicle should turn right onto the L-5210 (Elbow Lane) and head towards Carragraigue. At Barneys Cross the vehicle should turn left back onto the L-1119 to Lyre.

This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse when travelling from Lyre to Millstreet

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-146-18, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 13th November 2018.
