St Patricks Day Parade Cobh Proposed Road Closures




Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:-

Roads Subject of Proposed Closure

The R624 from its junction with the L-9621-1 at Kilgarvan to its junction with the L-2978-0 at Spy Hill/High Road.

The L-2990-0 Harbour Hill from its junction with the R624 at East Beach to its junction with the L-9619-0 Rahilly Street.

The L-9619-0 Rahilly Street and Pearse’s Square from its junction with the L-2990-0 Harbour Hill.

The L-9618-0 Casement Square.

The L-2965-20 Lower Road from its junction with the R624 at Westbourne Place to its junction with the L-9601-0 at Ringmeen

Period of Proposed Closure

Sunday 17th March 2019 (11.30hrs – 14.00hrs)

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Cobh St Patrick’s Day Parade 2019

Alternative Routes

Westbound traffic travelling from Connolly Street to Wharton’s Corner via L-9621-1 onto Harbour View. Turn left onto L-9622-0 Church Street. At junction turn right to join L-2990-0 Cathedral Place and continue north to Cannon O’Leary Place. At junction turn left onto Cannon O’Leary Place and at junction turn right onto L-9618-0 West View and then next left onto L-2978-0 Spy Hill. At junction at Westbourne Place turn right onto R624 High Road and continue south west to Wharton’s Corner.

Eastbound traffic travelling from Wharton’s Corner to Connolly Street via R624 to Westbourne Place. At junction turn left onto L-2978-0 Spy Hill. At Cannon O’Leary Place turn left onto L-2990-0 and then left onto L-2965-0 Laundry Hill. At the next junction turn right onto L-7058-0 Park Road. Follow road around onto Aherne Place. At junction turn right onto L-2989-30 Orilia Terrace and then left onto L-2992-24 Bishop Street and Carrignafoy Avenue. At roundabout take 3rd exit to join R624 East Hill. Continue south west along to meet L-9621-1 Connolly Street.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-16-19, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 12th February 2019.
