Winterval. Traffic Alteration.

As a part of the Winterval traffic management plan from Friday 17th  November until Tuesday 2nd January   the following traffic changes will be in place:
  • John Street and the Applemarket will closed from 3pm daily. Temporary traffic management will be in place, please follow the direction signs.

  • New Street will be two way for access to the New street Car park only.

Temporary Closing Of Roads

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:             
Monday 4th of December 2017 to Friday 8th of December 2017 inclusive

Road Closed:             
L-55142 Belgium Park to St. Patrick’s Terrace (Past John E. Coyles)                                       

To Facilitate:                 

Laying of new Telecom Ducting in carriageway on L-55142



Diversion Routes:   
Northbound Traffic:

Turn left off North Road (N54) onto Rope walk (L-55141) and continue to Belgium Park Road (L- 51823), proceed to N54 where diversion ends.

Southbound Traffic:

Proceed to enter the town on the N54, take right onto L-1413 (Plantation road), proceed to right turn onto N54 (North Road) where diversion ends.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above mentioned roads with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 21st November 2017. Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”. 

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Temporary Closing Of Roads
Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Date:- Friday 24th November 2017

Time:- 6pm -10pm

To Facilitate: Switching on of Christmas Lights

Roads Closed:- 
West Street, Castleblayney, R181-3.

Alternative Routes.
York Street to Muckno Street:- 
Traffic will be diverted right off the R938-0, York Street, onto the LT75066, Thomas Street, left onto the LT75065, Henry Street and then right onto the R181-0, Muckno Street,.


Muckno Street to York Street:- 
Traffic will be diverted left off the R181-3, Muckno Street onto the LT 75065, Henry/Church Street, then left onto the R938-0, York Street.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 21st November 2017.

Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.
