Notice to Close L5170 Derryhee Road, Emyvale

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Dates:    Tuesday 8th January 2019 - Friday 1st March 2019

Start and End Townlands affected are:The closure will take place in the townland of Carrigans, with the diversion route extending from Carrigans to Derryhee, Tonyhee, Drumconnelly, Tontnumery, Cornacreeve and Derrynashallog townlands.

Road Closed
The L5170 Derryhee Road will be closed for approximately 80 metres where it joins the N2. The closure is required to allow reconstruction of the Derryhee Road where it joins the new N2 Road alignment scheme currently under construction. There will be no through traffic between the N2 and the L5170 Derryhee Road during the closure, however the L5170 Derryhee Road will remain open to local traffic only for residents and businesses along the road.

Diversion Routes 
Vehicles travelling North along the N2 will no longer be able to turn left at the junction between the N2 & L5170 Derryhee Road – instead vehicles will need to continue North along the N2 to the L1160 Davagh Etra turn-off, and turn left onto the L1160 Davagh Etra Road. Continue on this road for 1.75 miles (2.8 km) to L1155 Road. Turn left onto L1155 and proceed South along the L1155 for 1.45 miles (2.3 km) to the junction with the L5170 Derryhee Road then turn left onto the Derryhee Road, which is the end of the diversion.

Vehicles travelling South along the N2 will no longer be able to turn right at the junction between the N2 & L5170 Derryhee Road – instead vehicles will need to turn right onto the L1160 Davagh Etra Road and follow the diversion as outlined above.

Local Access 
Local access will be maintained along the L5170 Derryhee Road for residents and businesses, although there will be no through access onto the N2. Residents will need to use the diversion route via the L1160 Davagh Etra Road and the L1155.

Emergency services access will be catered for at all times.

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Road Works up date from Maynooth MD

Road Works up date from Maynooth MD

Road Reconstruction works commenced today on the Canal side road in Kilbrook, Kilcock this morning. The initial works comprise of duct laying at the end of the cul de Sac from today, 18th December until the 21st December. Pavement overlay works will commence early in the new year and we expect all works to be completed by the 18th January.



Up to 10 minute delays will be encountered during this initial phases as the contractor is laying ducts in the centre of the roads as there is insufficient room along the road side verges. We regret these delays but unfortunately, they are unavoidable.

Emergency Road Works: Dublin Road/ St. Patrick's Road Junction

Limerick City and County Council advise Motorists and Road Users that Major Road Works will operate at the above junction from 11 pm on Tuesday, 18th December, 2018 until 7am on Wednesday, 19th December, 2018.

This traffic management is enable repairs to a burst water main.

Traffic Control will operation at these road works and traffic delays are expected.

Emergency Services Vehicle Access will be maintained.

Major Roadworks – N25 Ballymacar, New Ross (New Ross PPP Scheme)

Today Tuesday 18th and Tomorrow Wednesday 19th December

To facilitate the construction of the New Ross PPP scheme, there will be Roadworks on the N25 at the Ballymacar Roundabout, New Ross. Traffic Lights will be in operation for periods of time throughout today and tomorrow. Delays can be expected at peak times.

These works are weather dependant and as such the completion date and working hours may be subject to change. Delays may be experienced at peak times. 12 2018
