Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following roads for the period and reason specified below:-

Leap Village to Leap Reservoir, Leap, Co. Cork



Period of Proposed Closure

From 19.01hrs on Wednesday 14th October, 2020 to 19.00hrs Thursday 14th January, 2021

(24hr Closure)



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Installation of new Water Mains for the Skibbereen RWSS



Alternative Routes

Diversion route for the R1 and R2 to start at Corran Bridge L4237-0 (Mall Cross Roads), head for the L4239-0 heading for the junction at Gortroe onto the N71.



Diversion for R3 includes alternative route L8271-0, followed by the L8272-0, L4236-0 and L8307-0.



The roads will be closed in sequence, this will be the case so that a suitable access/diversion route is maintained.



At the points of the road closure, signage and barriers will have to be erected to prevent traffic through (permitting local access only).



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-158-2020, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 30th September, 2020. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

To and From Kinsale: - R607 to Halfway Roundabout; N71 to Junction with R613, R613 via Ballinhassig to Fivemile Bridge; R600 to Coolkirky



To and From Belgooly (not suitable for HGVs):- L3213 past GAA Grounds to Clontaed Cemetery; turn right onto the L3203 and take next left onto L-3217 to join R607 at Jaegoes Mills; R607 to Halfway Roundabout; N71 to Junction with R613, R613 via Ballinhassig to Fivemile Bridge; R600 to Coolkirky



To and From Riverstick: - L-3206 up the hill passed the Church continuing on straight to the Rising Sun. At the Rising Sun turn right onto the R607; take R607 to Halfway Roundabout; N71 to Junction with R613, R613 via Ballinhassig to Fivemile Bridge; R600 to Coolkirky



The stated diversion routes are applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure

Reason for Closure

To facilitate Connection and Developer Service Works.



Alternative Routes

Road Closure 1: Eastbound diversion –Follow the road to the left along the L-4720-65, heading north and turn right onto the L-8774-0. The reverse applies in the opposite direction.

Road Closure 2: Westbound diversion – Follow the road straight along the L-8774-0, heading north and turn left onto the L-8774-0. The reverse applies in the opposite direction.



Local Access only will be maintained throughout the duration of the closure.

Alternative Routes

Diverted traffic will flow through the R593 heading south and then take the L4212 heading west. Likewise traffic heading north will take the L4212 heading east and branch onto the R593.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Road Works Notice
Kilkenny County Council would like to advise that to facilitate resurfacing of road and road markings, a temporary road closure will be in operation on the R703 Main Street, Graiguenamanagh from the junction of the L4224 Mill Road to the junction with The Quay on Tuesday 29th September and Wednesday 30th September inclusive from 6pm to 3am both nights.
Traffic Management and local diversions will be in place.
These works are weather dependent.
