Water Disruption – Athlone Area  



Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise consumers served by the South Roscommon Regional Water Supply Scheme in the areas listed below, that they will experience disruption to water supply from 9am until 12pm approximately on the following day:


Tuesday
8th November 2016 


This is due to essential repairs taking place.

Areas Affected:       

  • Hudson Bay

  • Barrymore

  • Hill of Berries

  • Bogganfin

  • Cushla

    (Athlone Area, County Roscommon)

Public Alert: Boil Water Notice



Irish Water & Roscommon County Council

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council that the water supply served by Ballinlough Loughglynn public water scheme is contaminated with Cryptosporidium. On the advice of the Health Service Executive, a boil water notice is being issued. Accordingly, in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Loughglynn water scheme boil water before use.

Water must be boiled for:

  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice

Areas Affected include Ballinlough, Cloonfad, Trien, Cloonkeen, Cloonbunny, Silverfield, Cloonagh, Tonragee, Garanlahan Lowberry and all townlands surrounding these. Semi Private Group schemes served by the public water supply are also affected.
