Burst Water Main – Ballaghaderreen Operational Area 

Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise customers served by the North Roscommon Regional Water Supply that following areas on this scheme will experience disruption to water supply today Friday 23rd December 2016 from 11.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. approximately due to burst 12” AC water main. The areas affected are as follows: 

Lung Townland – The Meadows, Ballaghaderreen 

Roscommon County Council and Irish Water regret any inconvenience caused to customers

Public Alert: Boil Water Notice

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council that the water supply served by Ballinlough Loughglynn public water scheme is contaminated with Cryptosporidium. On the advice of the Health Service Executive, a boil water notice is being issued. Accordingly, in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Loughglynn water scheme boil water before use.

  • Water must be boiled for:

  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice

Areas Affected include Ballinlough, Cloonfad, Trien, Cloonkeen, Cloonbunny, Silverfield, Cloonagh, Tonragee, Garanlahan Lowberry and all townlands surrounding these. Semi Private Group schemes served by the public water supply are also affected.
