Water Disruption – Knockcroghery Area


Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise consumers served by the Knockcroghery Lecarrow Water Supply Scheme residing in the Knockcroghery Village area, that they will experience disruption to water supply from 11am until 1pm approximately on 30th January, 2017, due to essential maintenance taking place on the scheme


Roscommon County Council and Irish Water regret any inconvenience caused to consumers

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council that the water supply served by Ballinlough Loughglynn public water scheme is contaminated with Cryptosporidium. On the advice of the Health Service Executive, a boil water notice is being issued. Accordingly, in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Loughglynn water scheme boil water before use.

Water must be boiled for:

  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice
Areas Affected include Ballinlough, Cloonfad, Trien, Cloonkeen, Cloonbunny, Silverfield, Cloonagh, Tonragee, Garanlahan Lowberry and all townlands surrounding these. Semi Private Group schemes served by the public water supply are also affected.

Water Disruption – Taughmaconnell, Ballinasole, Co. Roscommon 

Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise customers served by the South Roscommon Regional Water Supply Scheme – Killeglan Source that following areas on this scheme will experience disruption to water supply today Friday 20th January 2017 from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.  approximately due to essential repairs on a leak in the watermain. The areas affected are as follows: 

Camla, Taughmaconnell
