Notice of Water Disruption – Roosky Village, Roscommon 

Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise customers served by the North East Regional Water Supply Scheme that following areas on this scheme may experience disruption to water supply on Thursday 4th May 2017 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. approximately due repairs on a hydrant in the area. 

Please note that customers will only experience disruption of ½ hour during the time specified. 

The areas affected are as follows: 

Roosky Village

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council that the water supply served by Ballinlough Loughglynn public water scheme is contaminated with Cryptosporidium. On the advice of the Health Service Executive, a is being issued. Accordingly, in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Loughglynn water scheme boil water before use.

Water must be boiled for:

  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice
Areas Affected include Ballinlough, Cloonfad, Trien, Cloonkeen, Cloonbunny, Silverfield, Cloonagh, Tonragee, Garanlahan Lowberry and all townlands surrounding these. Semi Private Group schemes served by the public water supply are also affected.
