BOIL WATER NOTICE

     Public Alert:

           Irish Water & Roscommon County Council

Irish Water/Roscommon County Council wishes to advise consumers served by the Grangemore Regional Water Supply Schemeto boil water before use until further notice.
  • Areas affected include: Croghan, Ballinameen, Ballymore, Killaraght, The Plains, surrounding areas.
Boiling water is the best extra measure to ensure that your water is free of coliforms and other infections.  It is essential that people in the affected areas boil any water intended for drinking or food preparation.  If you are unsure of the source of your water supply, you should boil your water as a precautionary measure.

Water should be boiled for the following purposes:
  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice

    Un-boiled water should not be used for these purposes.

    Un-boiled water can be used for personal hygiene, bathing and flushing of toilets but not for brushing teeth or gargling

    TO BOIL WATER: Boil water until rolling, and then allow to cool.  Cover and store in a refrigerator or cold place.  Water from the hot tap is not safe to drink.  Domestic water filters will not render water safe to drink.  Discard ice cubes in fridges and freezers and any filtered water in fridges.  Make ice from cooled boiled water.

    Use water prepared for drinking when preparing foods that will not be cooked (e.g. washing salads, fruit and vegetables to be consumed uncooked)

Notice of Water Disruption – Roscommon Central Water Supply Scheme 

Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise customers served by the Roscommon Central Water Supply Scheme that the following area(s) on this scheme will experience disruption to their water supply today Tuesday 23rd October 2018 from 12 noon to 3.00 p.m. approx. due to essential repairs on a 6” main in the area. 

The area(s) that will be affected are as follows:

Lisnamult
Antogher Road
Galway Road
Convent Road
Quarry View
Quarry Springs
Racecourse Road

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS
ROADS ACT 1993, SECTION 75
ROADS REGULATIONS 1994, ARTICLE 12

Roscommon County Council has decided to close the road set out in the schedule hereunder for the period and the reason specified. 

Road to be closed:  L7057 from the junction of L7057 and L1813 at Mote Park to the junction of L7057 and L1812 at Slevinagee 

Period of Closure:  Tuesday 23rd October, 2018 to Friday, 7th December, 2018.

Alternative Routes: Via L1813 and L1812
                                    And Vice Versa

Reason for Closure:  To facilitate repairs to Derrydonnell Bridge.
