Temporary Closing of Roads 
In order to facilitate the St. Patricks Day Parade, Monaghan County Council in the Municipal District of Monaghan hereby gives notice to close the following roads:

Roads Closed
R867 – Church Square, Monaghan – from Rossmore Monument to Church Square
LS5515 – Lower Mill Street

From 12.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on Friday 17th March, 2017

Alternative Routes
Diversions from Emyvale to Ballybay, Clones, Cootehill will be via the N2 bypass to the Dublin Road and R937 Macartan Road
Local access to the town centre and the Courthouse car park will be via Dublin Street, Macartan Road and Castle Road.

A map showing the areas affected is available for inspection at the Monaghan Municipal District Office, The Glen, Monaghan.

This Notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (section 75)

Temporary Closing of Roads
Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in County Monaghan as previously advertised in the Irish Independent on Thursday 23rd February and Wednesday 1st March 2017:

N2 Castleblayney Bypass– from the townland of Tullybuck (Clontibret) to the townland of Tullyvin (N2/N53 Roundabout)

To Facilitate:                     

Essential Maintenance Works

Diversion Routes:          

Main Diversion via old N2 Clontibret to Castleblayney & Vice Versa. Other

Every effort will be made to minimise delay.

Temporary Closing Of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice of intention to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Date:-      
Monday 20th March 2017 to Friday 12th May 2017

To Facilitate:      
Installation of a new water main along the L-65001 and L-65111 Darraghlan                     
to Bannaghbane, on behalf of Stranooden Group Water Scheme. This road                        
will be closed for a maximum of 14 days within the closure period from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Road Closed:
L-65001 Darraghlan to Bannaghbane, Stranooden, Monaghan.

Alternative Routes :
Divert via the R188 Monaghan Town/Stranooden Road, the L-2500 Stranooden/Urcher Road and the L-65001 Aghnaglogh Road.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 7th March 2017.

Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”. 
This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Carrickmacross St Patrick''s Day Parade

Carrickmacross St Patrick''s Day Parade

The town of Carrickmacross are expecting thousands of spectators at this year’s St. Patrick’s Parade which is on today at 3 pm. The Parade will take its usual route commencing at the junction of the Donaghmoyne and Dundalk Roads. This year promises to be one of the best Carrickmacross has ever seen with 7 marching bands, local schools, organisations and businesses bringing lots of music and colour to town.

At 11.15a.m. the flag will be raised at the Courthouse accompanied by music from the Stedfast Shoes Brass Band – all welcome!! Carrickmacross Comhaltas Branch will perform on the reviewing stand before the Parade starting at 2.15p.m

The Carrickmacross St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the best Parade’s around with many colourful floats. There will be the annual Perpetual Cups and Shields which will be awarded to the winners and runners-up of the “Best Float” and the “Best Band” on the day, and this year it could be you!

Don’t forget the inflatable castles and obstacle courses available for the kids outside Boylan’s Bar and Hudson’s Funfair will be in the Drummond Etra Carpark, and €100 Prize Money for Best Dressed Window!!

Emergency Road Closure - Carrickmacross Area

Temporary Closing of Roads - Emergency Closure

Monaghan County Council wish to notify the public that the following roads in County Monaghan will be closed from Monday 27th February 2017 from 8 am until Friday 10th March 2017 to 6pm to facilitate Emergency Road Repairs. 

Roads Affected: - 

  • The Road Abutting Mannan Castle Golf Club in the Townland of Donaghmoyne
  • LP-4911-0 in the Townland of Drumerlough Beg, Magheracloone

Road works will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
