Alternative Routes: 
Traffic diverted via N54 North Road, Monaghan

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Thursday 20th April 2017.

Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.


This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Monaghan LEADER has finalised plans to launch a call for festival funding under the Monaghan LEADER programme and I would appreciate your support in promoting this funding opportunity.  Please forward this information to individuals or groups involved in organising festivals and events in your area.

If you are involved in organising your local festival and wish to make it more sustainable, you are invited to attend the Monaghan LEADER - Rural Tourism Festivals Time-Limited Call Event on:

Wednesday 19th April at 7.30p.m. in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan Town.

This call for festival projects is open to accept ‘expressions of interest’ from 19 April 2017 until the call closes on 19 May 2017.  The call is targeted towards supporting the purchase of festival equipment/infrastructure & joint marketing for festivals, which work together for benefit of all in the area.  This opportunity is open to all festival groups in County Monaghan, and further information and expression of interest forms are available from this link: http://www.midl.ie/index.php/leader/leader-tourism-call .

Monaghan County Council wishes to advise that the following road in County Monaghan will be closed on:
Date:-      Saturday 8th April 2017 from 10am-12pm 
To facilitate the Official Opening of Lackan Bridge

Alternative Routes

  • For traffic intending to travel north from Shercock to Ballybay, divert onto the R181 Shercock Castleblayney road at Corclare Co Cavan. At Lough Egish divert left onto the R180 Lough Egish Ballybay road toward Ballybay.


  • For traffic intending to travel south from Ballybay town toward Shercock, divert onto the R180 Ballybay Carrickmacross road at roundabout at Riverdale hotel. In Lough Egish divert right onto the R181 Shercock road toward Shercock.
