Work will continue along Mill Street under road closure towards Church Sq.
Diversion routes are in place.
Local businesses/residents have been contacted regarding the works
Access will be available through the site for emergency response vehicles if required.

Work continues on the R212, Clones - Scotshouse Rd, in the vacinity of Cumber Bridge

Ulster Canal Greenway Info Event tomorrow

Information Event tomorrow Tues 9th May from 3-8pm in Market House, Monaghan on the proposed long distance greenway using Ulster Canal and abandoned railway lines to connect Enniskillen, Cavan, Clones, Monaghan, Armagh, Portadown, Glaslough and other towns.
Maps of route, Draft Development Strategy and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Report available for consultation.
Submissions invited on the SEA and the draft Strategy

Temporary Closing Of Roads

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following roads in County Monaghan:

Date:-    Thursday18th May 2017 to Friday 23rd June 2017

To facilitate: Rehabilitation Work to Emyvale Bridge on N2

Roads Closed:   
L11602 Drumully Road, Emyvale
L12104 Old Mill Road, Emyvale

Alternative Routes:
For L11602 (Drummully Road, Emyvale) road closure traffic to divert via L1160
For L12104 (Old Mill Road, Emyvale) traffic to divert via L1210 – Glaslough Road, Emyvale.

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 9th May 2017. 

Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”. 

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Notice of Intention to Close the R189 Road

Temporary Closing Of Roads

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Date:-      Sunday 21st May, 2017 between the hours of 10am and 2:30pm

To facilitate 

Blackwater 10k Road Race & Community Walk Gortakeegan/Rossmore Park

Roads Closed: 
The R189 Monaghan to Threemilehouse Road for a distance of 1.5km approximately from the N54 (Clones road/ Threemilehouse junction) at Tullygrimes, to local road no LT21807 at Killycushil. 

Alternative Routes: 
Travelling From;
  • Threemilehouse to Monaghan - continue along the R189, turn onto the LT 21807 at Killycushil and continue via the LT16005 to the N54 (Clones Road) at Whites bridge in the townland of Brandrum.


  • Monaghan to Threemilehouse / Newbliss - continue along the N54, turn left at Skeagh Bridge LP-2180 and continue onto the Threemilehouse/Newbliss road.                         

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the Director of Services for Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 9th May 2017.

Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”.

1 lane of traffic on North Rd will be maintained at all times.

Work will continue along Mill Street under road closure towards Church Sq.
Diversion routes are in place.

Local businesses/residents have been contacted regarding the works
Access will be available through the site for emergency response vehicles if required.

CLONES AREA
Pipelaying will continue along the R181 Clones Scotshouse Road in the vicinity of Cumber Bridge 05 2017
