Temporary Closing Of Roads
Monaghan County Council gives notice of intention to close the following road in The Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

R181 – 3, Main Street, Castleblayney.

Date:                     Sunday 24th September 2017 

Times:                   Day time closure - 8.00a.m.-6.00p.m.                                                          

To Facilitate:        Castleblayney Annual Fair Day.

Diversions will be in place

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above mentioned roads with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 12th September 2017. Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”. 

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Notice to Close the N2 Castleblayney By Pass

Temporary Closing Of Roads
Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan as previously advertised in the Irish Independent on Friday 1st September 2017 and Thursday 7th September 2017:-

Date of Closure:            
Sunday 17th September 2017 – Thursday 21st September 2017 


Road Closed:
                    
N2 Castleblayney Bypass – from the townland of Moy Otra  (Junction for Clontibret) to the townland of Tullyvin (Tullyvin Roundabout). Single lane closures will be in operation during this period with the Northbound Lane open while works are taking place on the Southbound Lane and vice versa.


Times:  7am to 7pm
                                                                                          

To Facilitate:                     
Essential Maintenance Works: Grass cutting, sign/barrier repairs and gully cleaning.


Diversion Routes:          
Main Diversion via old N2 Clontibret, Castleblayney Town & other 
localised diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Every effort will be made to minimise delays.

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Monaghan Town Library closed

Monaghan Town Library will be closed Monday, 11th; Tuesday, 12th and Wednesday, 13th September for maintenance. The Library will re-open on Thursday, 14th September at 11am.  Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. 09 2017

Road Closure - N2 Tullyvin Roundabout(Night Work)

Monaghan County Council wishes to advise the public of the following road closure on the N2 National Primary route Monaghan to Carrickmacross at Tullyvin Roundabout

Between the hours of 8pm and 6am (Night Work).

Monday 4th September 2017 to  Thursday 7th September 2017

Alternative Routes -  
  • Traffic travelling south along the N2 (Monaghan to Castleblayney) to divert left at the R183 Corracloghan Junction and continue into Castleblayney and divert left onto the N53 at Annadruman South junction, then take right onto the L4300 at Tullanacounat North, back onto the N2 (Castleblayney – Carrackmacross).

  • Traffic travelling north from Carrickmacross - Castleblayney to divert at the R181-4 Shercock Junction into Castleblayney.

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

N12 Monaghan-Armagh (Pipers Bridge) Road Closure

Monaghan County Council wishes to advisethe public of the following road closure on the N12 National Primary route Monaghan to Armagh Road from Pipers Bridge (LP1300) to the R213 junction from

Wednesday 30th  August 2017 to  Friday 1st September 2017

Alternative Routes - 


  • Traffic travelling south-west along the A3/N12 (Armagh to Monaghan) to divert left at the N12/R213 Junction at Tamlat and continue south along the R213 to the N2 Dublin-Derry Road at Castleshane.Take right onto the N2 and continue north-west towards Monaghan town.

  • Traffic travelling from Monaghan to Armagh to divert south at the N2 Coolshannagh Roundabout and continue south to the N2 Corlat Roundabout. Take the first exit onto the N2 Dublin-Derry Road and continue south-east. Divert left at N2/R213 Junction at Castleshane and continue north along the R213 to the N12/R213 Junction at Tamlat.
