Temporary Closing Of Roads
Monaghan County Council gives notice of intention to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Date: Monday 31st July 2017 to Friday 4th August 2017 from 8am to 6pm each day

To Facilitate: Telecommunication Services Installation

Roads Closed: 
LS-5515, Lower Mill Street,Monaghan Town, from its junction with the North Road to the end of the street at the Diamond.

Alternative Routes: 
Traffic travelling east should divert by the North Road (N54) to Glaslough Street (N54) and the R867 at the Diamond

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 18th July 2017.

Any objections must be clearly marked on envelope “Objection To Road Closure”. 

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Temporary Closing of Roads 

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:


Date & Time:-    
Wednesday 26th July 2017 until Friday 8th September 2017.  2
4 hour Road Closure will be in place over this period.

To Facilitate:     
Road Resurfacing works on Castleblayney Road and Ballybay Road Junctions


Road Closed: - 
  • R180 Ballybay Road – Castleblayney Road and Ballybay Road Junctions
Alternative Route:- R927 Castleblayney Road
Traffic wishing to proceed Northbound on the R180 will be continue on the R927 and take the 1st exit off the Castleblayney Road Roundabout and back onto the R180.
Alternative Route:-R927 Castleblayney Road
Traffic wishing to proceed Southbound on the R180 will be diverted left, from the Ballybay Road Roundabout, towards the Castleblayney Road Roundabout and on to the R927 Castleblayney Road.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Monaghan County Council gives notice of intention to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Roads Closure

N54 National Secondary road between Monaghan and Clones.

To Facilitate: 
Bridge Maintenance Works to Skeagh Bridge in Townland of Skeagh, Co. Monaghan.

Date:-     Tuesday 8th August 2017 to Friday 8th September 2017

Alternative Routes - 

    • Monaghan to Clones Traffic via R188 (Monaghan to Cootehill Rd) to Swanns Cross and via R183 (Clones to Ballybay Rd) to Clones
    • Clones to Monaghan Traffic via R183 (Clones to Ballybay Rd) to Swanns Cross to R188 (Monaghan to Cootehill Rd) to Monaghan
    • Monaghan to Cavan Traffic via R188 (Monaghan to Cootehill Rd) through Swanns Cross through Cootehill to Cavan
    • Local Traffic – Local Diversions will be in place

Any interested person may lodge an objection to the closing of the above-mentioned road with the A/Head of Roads, Monaghan County Council, MTEK II Building, Knockaconny, Monaghan not later than Tuesday 18th July 2017.

Muckno Street to York Street:- 

Traffic will be diverted left off the R181-3, Muckno Street onto the LT 75065, Henry/Church Street, then left onto the R938-0, York Street.
