Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

Dates:        Thursday 8th November to Friday 21st December 2018

Start and End Townlands affected are:Carrigans, with the diversion route extending from Carrigans to Emyvale to Glennan townlands

Road Closed

The L5207 Glennan Road will be closed for approximately 80 metres where it joins the N2. The closure is required to allow reconstruction of the Glennan Road where it joins the new N2 Road alignment scheme currently under construction. There will be no through traffic between the N2 and the L5207 Glennan Road during the closure, however the L5207 Glennan Road will remain open to local traffic only for residents and businesses along the road.

Diversion Routes

Vehicles travelling North along the N2 will no longer be able to turn right at the junction between the N2 & L5207 Glennan Road – instead vehicles will need to continue North along the N2 to Emyvale, and turn right at Centra in Emyvale onto the L1210 Glaslough Road. Continue on this road for 2.3 miles (3.7 km) to Glennan Church which is the end of the diversion.

Vehicles travelling South along the N2 will no longer be able to turn left at the junction between the N2 & L5207 Glennan Road – instead vehicles will need to turn left at Centra in Emyvale onto the L1210 Glaslough Road. Continue on this road for 2.3 miles (3.7 km) to Glennan Church which is the end of the diversion.

Local Access

Local access will be maintained along the L5207 Glennan Road for residents and businesses, although there will be no through access onto the N2. Residents will need to use the diversion route to Glennan Church and then turn left to Emyvale where they will re-join the N2.

Emergency services access will be catered for at all times on the local diversion routes 


This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Monaghan in County Monaghan:

 Date of Closure:             Monday 29th October 2018 – Saturday 3rd November 2018

Road Closed:                    N54, Cara Street, Clones 

Times:                                  7pm to 7am (Night Time Work)
                                                           
To Facilitate:                      Road Renewal Works on the N54 Clones Town

Diversion Routes:          
Diversion for N54 Traffic travelling west will be diverted via R183, then via A34 into Newtownbutler in Northern Ireland and via B533 to diversion end at the B533/A2 Junction (Wattlebridge)


Diversion for N54 Traffic travelling east will be diverted via B533 (Wattlebridge) into Newtownbutler in Northern Ireland, then via A34 and R183 with diversion end at the R183/N54 Junction.


Local access will be provided and every effort will be made to minimise delays. Diversion route will be signposted
