Important Notice to all Road Users – Aughnacloy Closed. 
No access from N2 at Moybridge, Co. Monaghan through to A5 via Aughnacloy, Co.Tyrone  

Monaghan County Council wish to advise that there will be no access to Aughnacloy on Saturday 26 August, 2017 between 10.30 am and 5.00pm due to an event in the town.

Road users are advised to drive carefully and follow diversions:
  • Emyvale via Glaslough LP 1210 to N12 and continue via Middletown, Armagh.
  • Monaghan Town follow N12 to border and continue via Middletown, Armagh.
  • N2 at Castleshane follow R213 via Middletown, Armagh.

Temporary Road Closure - LP4921-0 Nurebeg Carrick

Monaghan County Council intends to close the following road in the
Municipal District of Carrickmacross-Castleblayney in County Monaghan:

Date:- From Monday 4th September 2017 to Monday 11th September 2017. 24 hour closure. 

To facilitate:
     
The safe removal of overgrown vegetation

Road Closed:
LP 4921-0 at Nurebeg, Carrickmacross. From the T junction with LP 4800 (Drumcondrath road) to the T Junction of Mullaghmeen LS 8810. Road closure is in the Townland of Nurebeg.

Alternative Route :
Traffic wishing to proceed Carrickmacross bound on the LP 4921-0 will be diverted left onto the LS 8810-0 towards Carrickashedoge then right onto LP-4800.

Traffic wishing to proceed Country bound on the LS 4921-0 Street, will be diverted Right onto the LP-4800-0 towards Carrickashedoge then left onto LS 8810-0.

This notice complies with the Roads Act 1993 (Section 75)

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in County Monaghan:

Roads Closure

N2 National Primary route Monaghan to Carrickmacross Road at Tullyvin Roundabout. Between the Hours of 8pm and 6am (Night Work).

To Facilitate:
Pavement Works


Date:-     Monday 4th September 2017 to Thursday 7th September 2017

Alternative Routes - 

  • Traffic travelling south along the N2 (Monaghan to Castleblayney) to divert left at the R183 Corracloghan Junction and continue into Castleblayney and divert left onto the N53 at Annadruman South junction, then take right onto the L4300 at Tullanacounat North, back onto the N2 (Castleblayney – Carrackmacross).

  • Traffic travelling north from Carrickmacross - Castleblayney to divert at the R181-4 Shercock Junction into Castleblayney.

N12 National Primary route Monaghan to Armagh Road from Pipers Bridge (LP1300) to the R213 junction
To Facilitate:
Pavement Works

:-     Monday 28th August 2017 to 1st September 2017

Alternative Routes - 

Traffic travelling south-west along the A3/N12 (Armagh to Monaghan) to divert left at the N12/R213 Junction at Tamlat and continue south along the R213 to the N2 Dublin – Derry Road at Castleshane. Take right onto the N2 and continue north-west towards Monaghan town.

Traffic travelling from Monaghan to Armagh to divert south at the N2 Coolshannagh Roundabout and continue south to the N2 Corlat Roundabout. Take the first exit onto the N2 Dublin - Derry Road and continue south-east. Divert left at N2/R213 Junction at Castleshane and continue north along the R213 to the N12/R213 Junction at Tamlat.

The following Weather Advisory has been issued by Met Eireann at 13:00 hours Friday, 18-Aug-2017 Warm, humid conditions expected to develop on Sunday and lasting into the early days of next week will bring spells of heavy rain and the risk of local flooding. Details uncertain at this stage but current indications suggest that Northwestern coastal areas will be worst affected.
