Temporary Road Closure: N18 – Junction 1 (Rosbrien)

Please note Emergency Barrier Repair Works will take place on the Northbound slip road from M20 to M7 at N18 Junction 1 (Rosbrien – Junction of M20/M7/N18) from Thursday 7th February, 2019 from 22.00hrs to 06.00hrs on Friday 8th February, 2019.

Traffic Northbound from M20 to M7 will be diverted to N18 Junction 2 (Dock Road) and back onto the M7 via N18 Northbound.

Road Traffic Notice: Tree Felling Works N21 Croagh Village

Within the 60kph Speed Limit of the N21 Croagh Traffic Calming Extents from Monday 4th February 2019 to Wednesday 6th February 2019.

Limerick City and County Council advise Motorists and Road Users that Tree Felling Works will take place along the N21 at the western end of the Croagh Village Traffic Calming extents during the above period.

Works will take place between the hours of 09.00hrs and 16.30hrs from the 4th February 2019 to the 6th February 2019 inclusive as part of these works.

Traffic Management with a Stop/Go system will be in place and delays are expected.

Limerick City and County Council will endeavour to ensure that disruption to the flow of traffic on the N21 is kept to a minimum.

Emergency service vehicles will have through access.

Emergency Road Closure on N21 near Templeglantine

Please be advised that the N21 between Newcastle West and Abbeyfeale at Barnagh is Closed due to a serious accident.

The road will remain closed for several hours and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

In particular Limerick bound HGVs are advised to divert to N69 at Glin via R524 at Abbeyfeale and Kerry bound HGVs divert to N69 at Foynes via R521 at Newcastle West.

Part 8 Development: N69 Kilcornan Traffic Calming Scheme

Part 8 Development: N69 Kilcornan Traffic Calming Scheme

In accordance with Part XI of the Planning & Development Acts 2000 (As Amended) and Part 8 Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (As Amended), notice is hereby given that Limerick City & county Council proposes to install Traffic Calming on the N69 National Secondary Road at Kilcornan. The works will be located in the townlands of Killeen, Ballyvogue, Cowpark, Curraghchase North and Boherboy.

Nature and extent of the proposed development;

The proposed improvement works will be carried out within the existing 60kph speed limit zone over a length of 750m between the L6135 Curraghchase Junction and the L6125 Junction. The improvement works proposed comprise a reduction of the N69 carriageway width to 6.5m over the 750m length of the scheme with a footway installed on the southern side (School side) and a kerbing with a grass verge on the northern side of the carriageway. The proposed works also include for the installation of LED public lighting on the northern side of the carriageway, road lining and signage as well as surface water drainage along both sides of the N69 carriageway and pavement improvement works. Accommodation works will be undertaken as required including improvement works in and around the community hub of the national school and GAA club grounds access.

The implementation of the works proposed will result in a rearrangement of the existing road network in the vicinity of the scheme. Changes to the existing road network will include the reduction of road width to 6.5m over a 750m length and the installation of a footway abutting the westbound carriageway and a kerbing with a grass verge abutting the eastbound carriageway over the scheme length.

In accordance with S.I. 476 2011, Section 250, Planning and Development (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations, 2011, the Council has carried out a screening and it has been determined that an appropriate assessment is not required.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at: -

  • Rathkeale Area Office, New Line, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick, V94 HK1V
  • From 09.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday from 31st January 2019 to 1st of March 2019 (excluding bank holidays)

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development will be situated may be made in writing to Limerick City and County Council, Planning and Environmental Services, Dooradoyle Road, Dooradoyle, Limerick V94 WV78 no later than 4.30pm on the 19th of March 2019. Submissions should be clearly marked: N69 Kilcornan Traffic Calming Scheme.
