Road Works: Ennis Road (R445) (Jetland to Union Cross)

Limerick City and County Council advise that major road resurfacing works will operate on the Ennis Road R445 (Jetland to Union Cross) on Monday 8th April 2019 to Monday 15th April 2019 from 7pm to 7am (Monday to Saturday).

These works are associated with Irish Water watermain installations.

These works are scheduled for off peak periods in order to minimise traffic congestion.

Emergency service access will be available.

Limerick City and County Council advise motorists and road users that traffic lane closure will operate on William Street on Monday 8th April 2019 from 06:00am to 07:00am.

This temporary traffic lane closure is necessary to enable construction works at the corner of Foxes Bow with its junction with William Street.

Emergency service vehicle access will be available at all times.

New Traffic System: O’Connell Street/Cecil Street, Limerick

New Traffic System: O’Connell Street/Cecil Street, Limerick

Limerick City and County Council advise motorists and road users that a new traffic management system will commence operation at O’Connell Street, Limerick (R445) between Roches Street and Cecil Street commencing Friday 12th April 2019 at 10am.

From 10am Friday 12th April 2019 a no left turn prohibition will be introduced to prohibit traffic turning from O’Connell Street to Cecil Street.

In addition traffic on Lower Cecil Street will be prohibited from entering Cecil Street.

Existing night time taxi ranks on the South side of O’Connell Street will be relocated to the North side and on to Cecil Street.

This temporary traffic management system is being introduced to enable construction of the International Rugby Experience Project and will operate for 2-4 months.

Fógra Poiblí de réir Acht Um Thrácht ar Bhóithre 1994 (Alt 38) leasaithe ag an Acht Um Rialáil Iompair Phoiblí 2009 (Alt 46) / Public Notice in Compliance with the Road Traffic Act 1994 (Section 38) as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46). Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Limerick City and County Council proposes to introduce traffic calming measures on the R512, at Kilmallock between Glenfield Road Junction and Junction with R518.

The proposed works will involve the provision of a raised table and revisions to the kerb lines at this location. This proposal is to provide enhanced safety features on this road which serves the secondary school.

Maps showing the location of the proposed works may be inspected at the following location during normal office hours, for a period of one month, from Thursday, 4th of April 2019: Kilmallock Area Office, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick and are also available below. 

Observations or representations in relation to the proposal may be made, in writing and marked Section 38 – R512, Kilmallock, to the Area Roads Engineer, Kilmallock Area Office, Limerick City and County Council, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick and must be received by Thursday, 4th of May 2019.

Roadworks Notice: N21 Adare (Night time works)

Roadworks Notice: N21 Adare (Night time works)

Limerick City and County Council advise motorists, road users, business and commercial premises that roadworks will operate on the N21 on the approach into Adare Village from Limerick City, from 9pm to 6am commencing Monday 8th of April with the expectation of completing the works by 6am on Wednesday 10th of April.

These roadworks involve pavement re-texturing and reinstatement of road markings. Temporary traffic management comprising of a shuttle system with stop / go traffic control will operate. Emergency service vehicle access will be available at all times. Motorists are advised that traffic delays are likely during these work periods.
