Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Construction of Cattle Underpass



Alternative Routes



Traffic heading north along the L-2773 is to turn left at Brownes bar onto the L-6834, then take a right onto the L-68351 towards St. Josephs church. Turn right onto the L-6835 and then turn onto the L-2766 at Courtbrack cross roads towards Pipe House cross roads.



Traffic heading south along the L-2766 take a right at Pipe House cross roads along the L-2766, turn left onto the L-6835 at Courtbrack cross roads, take a left onto the L-68351, take a left onto the L-6834 towards Brownes bar.



Traffic heading south along the L-6827 is to turn right onto the L-2766 at Pipe House cross roads along the L-2766, turn left onto the L-6835 at Courtbrack cross roads, take a left onto the L-68351, take a left onto the L-6834 towards Brownes bar.



Local access to be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-15-2020, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 4th February, 2020. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Alternative Routes

Travelling westwards: In Drimoleague, at the junction with the R593, turn left onto the R593 (Skibbereen Road) and proceed to Derreeny Bridge (Bauravilla). Turn right at Bauravilla onto the R594 and proceed through Caheragh onto the R586 at Aghaville Cross.

Travelling eastwards: At Aghaville Cross, at the junction with the R594, turn right onto the R594 (Skibbereen Road) and proceed through Caheragh to Bauravilla. Turn left at the Bauravilla junction onto the R593 (towards Drimoleague) and proceed to the R586 at Drimoleague.

L-3206 Riverstick (from its junction with the L-7340 as far as Ballymartle House)



Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs Monday 17th February 2020 to 18.00hrs Friday 21st February 2020. (24hour Closure).



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate pipe laying for Belgooly Water Supply Scheme



Alternative Routes

Northern Diversion Route: - L-3206 to Ballymartle Cross; turn right at Ballymartle Cross onto L-3203; turn right onto L-6480 at Ballinaboy and right again onto the R-600 at Lisfehill.



Southern Diversion Route:- Take R-600 southbound as far as Coolcorrin Cross; turn right at Coolcorrin Cross onto the L-3208 and take the first right onto the L-7225; turn right again onto the L-3203; continue on to Ballymartle Cross turning right there onto the L-3206.



The above mentioned diversion routes are also applicable in reverse.



Local access will be maintained for residents.



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-14-2020 not later than 5pm on Tuesday 4th February 2020. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

To facilitate Pipeline Construction.



Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access Weir Street from South Main Street junction, shall be diverted east along South Main Street (L2021-31 and then R603-0), continue along Pearse Street (R603-0), then turn left onto St Finbarr’s Place (R603-0 and then R586-0), then turn left onto McSwiney Quay (L-2050-0), follow the road as approaching Weir Street road closure from the opposite end, by the Riverview Shopping Centre junction.

Traffic intending to access Weir Street from McSwiney Quay, will be diverted east along McSwiney Quay (L-2050-0), at the junction take a right onto St Finbarr’s Place (R586 and then R603-0), then continue westbound along Saint Patrick’s Quay (L-2057-0), turn right on to Market Street (R603-0), then turn left on to South Main Street (L-2021-31), then approach Weir Street road closure from the opposite end at the junction.



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC13-2020, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 5th February 2020. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

Alternative Routes

Traffic approaching the road closure from Doneraile/Mitchelstown are to divert along the L1227 Skenakilla to Reas Cross Killavullen and divert left onto the N72 and proceed into Castletownroche to junction with L1229. End of Diversion



Traffic approaching the road closure from Fermoy are to continue along N72 until junction with L1227 at Reas Cross Killavullen and go right to divert along the L1229 until Skenakilla Cross on N73. End of Diversion



Diversion route will be signposted.



Local access will be maintained for all affected properties along closed section.
