TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

L-4749-0 - Main Street and Church Road, Bantry



Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs Monday 4th March 2019 to 18.00hrs Friday 5th April 2019

(24hr Closure).



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Rehabilitation of Water Mains



Alternative Routes

Westbound diversion – Head north along Boy’s Club Road and turn left on N71, continue straight and turn left onto Barrack Street for the Church Street section. The same diversion applies in opposite direction.

For the section along Main Street, westbound diversion – Head north along Barrack St, turn left onto N71, continue onto Wolfe Tone Square and turn left onto New Street. The same diversion applies in opposite direction



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-13-19, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 13th February 2019.

Eastbound – Continue on N71 Casement Street, turn left on L4036-0 Clarke Street and then left on L4036-1 Astna Street.

ROADS ACT, 1993

URGENT TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROAD – L2042-0 (part) Oliver Plunkett Street, Bandon



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, and Article 12 (6), in Part 8 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that the continued urgent closure of the road as detailed below is necessary, in the interests of public safety.



Road to be closed

L-2042-0 (part) Oliver Plunkett Street, Bandon, from its junction with Bradys Lane to its junction with the R-603-0 at St Finbarr’s Place



Alternative Routes

Traffic intending travelling east from Pearse Street(R-603-0) on to Oliver Plunkett Street (at its junction with St Finbarr’s Place), will be diverted left onto St Finbarr’s Place (R603-0), then right onto the Glasslyn Road (R-586-0), then right onto Bradys Lane, then left at the junction rejoining Oliver Plunkett Street (L-2042-0) at the east side of the road closure.

The stated diversion is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction towards St Finbarr’s Place.



Traffic travelling south bound intending to turn left onto Oliver Plunkett Street Junction at St Finbarr’s Place, shall continue straight ahead onto St Patricks Quay (L-2057-0), then take a right onto Bridge Lane (L-2055-0) and right again onto Pearse Street (R-603-0) and then follow the diversion route stated above.



Duration of Closure

From 12.00hrs Monday 11th February 2019to 12.00hrs Monday 11th March 2019

(24 Hour Closure)



Reason for Urgent Closure

Continuation of existing urgent road closure in the interests of public safety due to presence of dangerous structures.
