TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-



Road Subject of Closure

R600 from its junction with Denis Quay to its junction with Lower O’Connell Street, Kinsale.



Period of Closure

From 09:00hrs to 18:00hrs Saturday 24th August, 2019 and Sunday 25th August, 2019. (Daily Closure)



Reason for Closure

To facilitate the National Watersports Inclusion Games.



Alternative Routes

West bound traffic will be diverted around the closure via the L-9724 Denis Quay and Lower O’Connell Street.

North bound traffic will be diverted at Archdeacon Duggan Bridge via the R606; and the L-3235 Commoge Road to the L-3234 Bandon Road.

At the junction of the L -3235 Commoge Road to the L-3234 Bandon Road:-

Kinsale bound traffic will be directed right onto the L-3234 Bandon Road; turning right again onto the R605 Pearse Street and rejoining the R600 on the other side of the diversion at Boland’s Corner.

Cork bound traffic will be directed left and will continue along the L-3234 Bandon Road turning right onto the R605 at Glasheen; and left onto the R607 at Abbey-Lands.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Reason for Closure

To facilitate insertion and pulling of cables in underground ducting.



Alternative Route

Northbound traffic: Follow the L-7483-20 west to its junction with the R-618. Follow the R-618 east to its junction with the L-7483-20. The same route applies in reverse.

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-



Road Subject of Closure

R-586-0(Part), North Main Street, Bandon.



Period of Closure

From 19:00hrs Sunday 25th August 2019 to 19:00hrs Friday 27th September 2019.

(24 Hour Closure).



Reason for Closure

To facilitate Pipeline, Road and Footpath Construction.



Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access North Main Street from Kilbrogan Hill and Emmet Row will be diverted west along the R-586-12 passing the Dunmanway Road, follow the road onto the R-586-25, then at Carhoon East turn left onto the L-2019-0 heading towards Baxter’s Bridge, follow the road to its junction with the N71 at Knockaveale, then turn left onto the N71-982, follow the road on to N71-993, and then N71-1001, take a right at the mini roundabout onto Kilbrittain Road (N71-1013), then turn left onto the Bypass Road (N71-1018), follow the road onto the N71-102, then take the 1st exit at the roundabout on to the Glasslinn Road (R586-0), follow the road, then at the junction turn right onto St Finbarr Place and continue onto Bridge Place (R-586-0) whereby then approaching the closed road from the opposite side of the road closure.

The above stated diversion is applicable in reverse when travelling the opposite direction.

Traffic approaching Bandon on the R-586-0 from Enniskean intending to traverse North Main Street, will be diverted right at Carhoon East onto the L-2019-0 towards Baxter’s Bridge from where they shall then follow the above stated diversion from that point onwards.



An additional, local traffic alternative diversion route, via Macroom Road (R589-0) and Old Cork Road (L-2040-0) may also be used for vehicles other than heavy goods vehicles.

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-



Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L1309-0 Boolard Cross – Milltown Cross, Newtownshandrum, Co. Cork.



Period of Proposed Closure

From 08.00hrs Monday 16th September, 2019 to 17.00hrs Thursday 19th September, 2019 (24hr Closure)



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Installation of a Cattle Underpass and Associated Works



Alternative Routes

Traffic approaching the road closure from Southwest on the R578 and L5476 are to proceed on the R578 to Newtown Schoolhouse Cross and go right onto R515 continuing into Charleville and go right onto L1315 Park Road. Traffic is to continue to junction of L1312 Newline Road and go right to Powerhouse Cross. Turn right onto L1313 and continue on this road until Milltown Cross. End of detour.



Traffic approaching the road closure from Milltown Cross is to follow diversion in opposite direction.



Diversion route will be signposted. Local access will be maintained for all affected properties along closed section.



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-136-19, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 20th August, 2019. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
