Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

L-3630-0 from Knockastrukeen to Innygraga at junction with R629, Cloyne, Co. Cork



Period of Closure

From 08:00hrs Monday 26th August, 2019 to 18:00hrs Friday 11th October, 2019

(24hr Closure)



Reason for Closure

To facilitate Installation of 350mm Ductile Iron Pipe



Alternative Routes

From Knockasturkeen divert onto the L3628 to Thades Cross, turn left onto the L3625 Gearagh Road to Carney’s Cross turn left onto the R629 and continue to Innygraga. This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse direction.



Local access will be maintained for residents along the Road Closure.

L2208, Casey’s Road, Knockanemore, Ovens.



Period of Closure

From 10:00hrs on Monday 26th August, 2019 to 16:00hrs on Sunday 6th October 2019 (24 hour closure)



Reason for Closure

To facilitate Road Improvement Works, New Carriageway, Drainage and Watermains.



Alternative Routes

Eastbound Traffic approaching from N22 – follow the N22 and turn right at the Ovens Bar onto the Ovens Bridge Cross (L-2209) and head westwards along this route.



Westbound Traffic approaching from N22 – turn left at the Ovens Bar onto the Ovens Bridge Cross (L-2209) and head westwards along this route.



Eastbound traffic approaching from L-6226 – continue westbound straight through the three Cross Roads heading towards the Ovens Bridge Cross (L-2209), continue onto the N22.



Local access to be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 9:00hrs on Monday 16th September, 2019, to 20:00hrs on Friday 11th October, 2019. (24hr Closure)



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Road Strengthening and Overlay.



Alternative Routes

Travelling from Durrus Village to Bantry from the junction of the R-591 and the L-4705, turn right travelling the L4705-0, L-4705-25, L-4705-47, (Ballycommane Road) then turn left onto the N-71 into Bantry.

Travelling from Bantry to Durrus from Durrus Cross continue on the N-71-515, then N-71-523, turning right at Parkana Bridge travelling via the L-4705-47, L-4705-25 and the L-4705-0 (Ballycommane Road) to Durrus Village.



Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

L-5063 Watergate Street, Kanturk, Co. Cork. (Between Boyle Sports & St Vincent de Paul Shop)



Period of Proposed Closure

From 8:00hrs on Monday 9th September 2019 until 18:00hrs on Friday 27th September 2019. (24hr Closure)



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate erection, work on and dismantle a scaffold.



Alternative Routes

Traffic shall divert via L-5067 at Bluepool Upper and through the Public Car Park (at the rear of Supervalu) to access Watergate Street.



Pedestrian Access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

To facilitate Construction of Cattle Underpass



Alternative Routes



To travel from Lombardstown Village from the L-5339, travel east on the L-5339 to its junction with the LP-1210. Turn right and travel along the LP-1210 into Glantane Village. Continue on this road. At Horgan’s Cross travel on the LP-1209 into Lombardstown Village.



This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse.



Local access will be maintained for the duration of the road closure.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure

L-2026-0(Part), Hill View, Bandon. From its junction with O’Mahoney Avenue to its side road junction with Church Lane South.



Period of Proposed Closure

From 07:00hrs on Monday 9th September, 2019 to 19:00hrs on Saturday 28th September, 2019.   (24hr Closure).



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate Pipeline Construction.



Alternative Routes

Traffic intending to access Hill View (L-2026-0) from O’Mahoney Avenue will be diverted east along the L-2021-31 to Ballymodan Place and then South Main Street, then take a right onto Market Street (R603-0), then follow the road through St Patrick’s Place and then New Road. Take a right onto Church Lane South (L-2060-0), follow the road thus rejoining the closed road from the opposite side of the road closure at the Chapel Street junction.



The above diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.



Local access will be maintained for the duration of the road closure where possible.



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-150-19, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 21st August, 2019. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
