TEMPORARY CL OSING OF PUBLIC ROADBridge Replacement Works at Inchincurka and Shanlaragh Bridges



Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, & Part 8 of Road Regulations 1994, Article 12 (sub article 6),  notice is hereby given that the urgent closure of the road as detailed below is necessary, in the interests of public safety.



Road Closed:

Part of the R585 from its junction with the L-4607-75 at Inchincurka for a distance of 315m to the West.



Part of the R585 from its junction with L-8532-0 at Shanlaragh for a distance of 370m to the West.

Alternative route:

Northern Route

Traffic to travel on the R584 at Ballylickey (Ouvane Falls) via Kealkill, Ballingeary, Inchigeelagh and Toonsbridge and join the N22 east of Macroom.

This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.



Southern Route

Traffic to travel on the R585 at Castlemore / Crookstown Village via Bealnablath and Coppeen as far as it’s junction with the R587 at Curradrinagh. Traffic to travel on the R587 to Dunmanway and join the R586 and continue on this route via Drimoleague to meet the N71 at Keilnascarta.

This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.



Duration of closure:

From Tuesday 8th November 2016 to Friday 11th November 2016 (24 Hours Daily)



Reason for closure:

Bridge Replacement Works

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 that the following roads will be closed to public traffic for the dates and times stated:





Foul Sewer Diversion Works – L-2050-0 McSwiney Quay, Bandon

From 08:00hrs Monday 7th November to 18:00hrs Friday 2nd December 2016

(24 Hours Daily)





Road closed:

Part of the L-2050-0 McSwiney Quay from its junction with the R586 at St Finbarr Place to its junction with Weir Street.

Alternative route:

Traffic leaving Riverview Shopping Centre will turn right onto Weir Street and join the L2021-31 at South Main Street and continue onto the R603 along Pearse Street and rejoin the R586 at St Finbarr Place.



Traffic coming over Bandon Bridge or Glasslyn Road will join the R603 at St Finbarr Place, continue along the L-2057-0 Saint Patrick’s Quay and rejoin the R603 at Market Place, continue to join the L-2021-31 at South Main Street and turn right onto the L-2050-0 Weir Street.





This closure is to facilitate foul sewer diversion works as part of the Bandon Flood Relief Scheme.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 that the following roads will be closed to public traffic for the dates and times stated:



Bridge Replacement Works - L4402 Barleycove Causeway Bridge

From 08:00hrs 7th November to 17:00hrs Friday 16th December 2016

(24 Hours Daily)  



Road To Be Closed:

The L-4402-0 from the entrance to Barleycove Beach Car Park to its junction with the L-4401-33 at Lissagriffin.

Road Number:

L-4402-0 (Part).



Alternative Routes:

From Goleen to Mizen Head via the L-4401 through Lissagriffin, R591 Coast Road should be avoided as there will be no access through the Causeway.

From Goleen to Barleycove Beach/Car Park via R591 Coast Road. At Ballynaule turn right onto L-4402-0 and continue to Barleycove Beach/Car Park.

From Barleycove/Crookhaven to Mizen Head via R591 Coast Road to Goleen. At Goleen turn left onto L-4401 and continue along L-4401 through Lissagriffin to Mizen Head.



The alternative routes above are also applicable in the reverse.



This closure is to facilitate Bridge Replacement works.

Bridge Repair Works - R588 Bandon River Bridge, Enniskean

From Monday 7th November, 2016 to Monday 12th December 2016

(24 Hours Daily) 



 Road to be Closed:

Part of the R588 from its junction with the R586 in Enniskean Village to its junction with the L-2014-0 and L-8612-0 at Curraghcrowly East.

Alternative Route:



Traffic wishing to travel south from Enniskean along the R588 will be diverted west along the R586 turning left onto the L-4630-0 at Main Street, Ballineen. From here join the L-4630-8 at The Hatters Cross Roads and continue to rejoin the R588 at Derrymeeleen. Traffic will be diverted left along the R588 as far as its junction with the L-2014-0 and L-8612-0 at Curraghcrowly East. 



This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.





This closure is to facilitate Bridge Repair Works.

To 16.00hrs Friday 31st March 2017

(Daily Closure)

Part of the L-3400-32 and the L3400-0 from the Speed limit in Coolea Village to the County Bounds at Derrylahan near the Top of Coom pub.

Alternative route:

Traffic travelling West along the N22 will follow the N22 via Ballyvourney to the County Bounds and continue as far as its junction with the R569 turning left onto the R569 and continue as far as its junction with Morley’s Bridge.

This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.



This closure is to facilitate cable & ducting installation.
