Update: Storm Deirdre will move quickly across the country this afternoon and evening and will move through the Irish Sea early tonight. It will give some squally, damaging winds in all areas for a short period of time. In Munster and Connacht winds will peak mid to late afternoon, depending on location and in Leinster and Ulster in the early evening. West to northwest winds 55 to 65 km/h will gust 100 to 110 km/h generally, but some gusts will reach up to 130 km/h in exposed locations.

Alert message from Met Eireann:
A developing depression (Storm Deirdre) will track northeast over Ireland during Saturday afternoon and evening and will bring wet and windy weather to all areas. West or northwest winds will reach mean speeds of 65km/h with gusts of 100km/h generally, with disruptive and damaging gusts to 130km/h likely for a few hours in western and southern counties in the late afternoon and transferring eastwards during the evening.

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-





Road subject of proposed closure:

The L-1119 from its junction with the L-1028 at Lyons Bridge, to the junction with the L-1124 at Moll McCarthy’s Bridge.



Period of proposed closure:

From 08.00hrs Monday 7th January 2019 to 18.00 Friday 25th January 2019.



Reason for proposed closure:

To facilitate Rehabilitation of Watermains



Alternative Routes:

Vehicles travelling to Lyre should continue on the R583 at Priests Cross and turn right onto the L-1120 at Coole Cross towards Banteer. At Fortgrady Cross the vehicle should turn right onto the L-5210 (Elbow Lane) and head towards Carragraigue. At Barneys Cross the vehicle should turn left back onto the L-1119 to Lyre.

This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse when travelling from Lyre to Millstreet





Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-171-18, not later than 5pm on Wednesday 19th December 2018.

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council will close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-



Road subject of Closure:

R601 from the Primary School to the Abbey; this will involve closure of the bridge between Timoleague to Courtmacsherry.



Period of Closure:

From 08.00hrs Monday 7th January 2019 to 18.00hrs Wednesday 13th March 2019

(24hr Closure)



Reason for Closure:

To facilitate Installation of new Watermain and New Sewer Network



Alternative Routes:

To Courtmacsherry – Take R600 (Main Street / Mill Street) towards the L4021, past the petrol station. Continue on L-4021 past Spital Cross, through School Cross and into Lislevane on the L4018. Carry straight on the L4023 towards Wood Road, and on into Courtmacsherry.

To Timoleague – The above route is applicable in the reverse.

Parking will be restricted on either side of Mill Street and on one side of Main Street.

Period of Proposed Closure

From 08:00hrs Wednesday, 2nd January 2019 to 18:00hrs Friday, 15th February 2019.

(24 Hour Closure).



Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate the Rehabilitation of Watermain.



Alternative Route

At Carrigagrenane Cross Roads, Maulyregan (junction of L-4239, L4637 & L-4240) continue south to Reanascreena village, turn right onto L4241. Continue through Tullig to Tullig Cross Roads (junction of L-4239 & L-4241).

The reverse applies travelling in the opposite direction.



Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-166-18, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 18th December 2018.

West Bound Traffic – Continue along the N71 / Croppy Road. Turn Right onto L4036 / Clarke Street, joining onto the R880 (Turn right for Wolfe Tone Street).

East Bound Traffic – The reverse applies.
