Temporary Road Closure re: re: Sorrel / Kiltumper

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 of Clare County Council’s decision to close the road detailed hereunder for the period stated to facilitate the construction of a cable route associated with the Sorrel and Kiltumper Wind Farms.

Road to be closed:
L-2048 west for a distance of 3500m from its junction with L-6192 (Glenmore). 24 hour road closure to facilitate complete road reconstruction and 220m of ducting.

Note: The closure of the L-6192 (Glenmore to Kilmihil via Clonigulane School) road will be lifted during this period.

Date and time of closure:
13th August 2018 to 25th August 2018,
24 hour closure to facilitate complete road reconstruction.

Alternative routes / diversions;
R-483, R-484 & N-68

Local road diversions will apply for local traffic .This local diversion will not be suitable for HGVs. 07 2018

The following Weather Advisory has been issued by Met Eireann at 11:00 hours Monday, 26-Feb-2018 Update on previous Advisory. Exceptionally cold weather will occur this week. Air and ground temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees below normal, with significant wind chill and penetrating severe frosts. Snow showers, mainly affecting eastern areas on Tuesday, will progressively become more widespread and heavier through midweek.
