  • Details: Carlow Farmers Market is held every week in the centre of Carlow Town (at the old Potato Market beside the main town-centre Car Park) and there are a wide variety of producers selling their fresh produce to the general public

  • Details: As a lasting legacy of the Carlow Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, this innovative and unique contemporary stained glass mural illustrates a Carlow narrative showing some key Carlow figures such as Micheál O’Hanrahan who grew up on Tullow Street and Nurse Margaret Kehoe from Leighlinbridge who lost her life on Easter Monday 1916, and tells of the role they played in 1916. Rich in symbolism the piece was created by Peadar Lamb, an artist working primarily in the medium of stained glass for over twenty years, using hand-made glass and a variety of techniques which have changed little over the centuries. Well worth a visit, Admission to the Museum as always is free! Opening Hours: Monday - Saturday 10.00am – 4.30pm

  • Title: The Quiet Revolution - 70th Anniversary of Rural Electrification Exhibition
  • Venue: Carlow County Museum

  • Details: The Rural Electrification Scheme has been described as one of the greatest social and economic developments in twentieth-century Ireland. This exhibition explores the bringing of the light to Carlow, from the first public lighting in 1891, to the implementation of rural electrification in the area (1947-1963) and has a focus on Paddy Dowling, Carlow Person of the 20th Century. The Quiet Revolution Exhibition has been developed in association with the E.S.B.. Admission is free.

Unplanned Water Outage Bagenalstown Area.

Carlow County Council wish to advise consumers that due to emergency repair works on a burst watermain in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow that the water supply serving Royal Oak Road (Part of) and St. Brigid’s Crescent (Part of) is presently shut down today Wednesday, 15th March, 2017.

Carlow County Council are endeavouring to have the water supply restored to these areas by 12.00 midnight.

Carlow County Council and Irish Water apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Carlow County Council wish to advise consumers that due to essential maintenance works on the watermain in Oak Tree Court, Bagenalstown Road, Borris, Co. Carlow that the water supply serving this estate will be shut down on Wednesday, 15th March, 2017 between the hours of 11.00am and 5.00pm.

Carlow County Council and Irish Water apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Carlow County Council wish to advise consumers that due to essential maintenance works on the watermain inTullow, Co. Carlow that the water supply serving the following areas will be shut down from 11.00pm on Tuesday 14th March, 2017 until 6.00am on Wednesday, 15th March, 2017.

Areas Affected:-
  • Shillelagh Road

  • Dublin Road & Adjoining Estates.

Carlow County Council wish to advise consumers that due to emergency repair works on a burst main in Station Road, Boris, Co. Carlow that the water supply serving this area is currently shut down.

Carlow County Council are endeavouring to have the supply restored by 4.00pm today.

Road Improvement Works - Bridge Street Hacketstown

Road Improvement Works - Bridge Street Hacketstown

Due to necessary Improvement works, the Road from Bridge Street, Hacketstown to Hacketstown Cemetery will be closed from 10.00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 on Wednesday, 15th March, 2017.
Traffic travelling from Kiltegan to Hacketstown on the R747 will need to take an alternative route during these times.
