Since establishing herself as one of Irelands leading female solo artists Hannigan has scored two number one albums in the Irish charts, two Choice Music Prize nominations and a Mercury Prize nomination for Sea Sew.   • Title: St. Willibrord, Patron Saint of Luxembourg and his County Carlow Connection

  • Details: St. Willibrord, who was trained and ordained in county Carlow in the 7th century at the most important Anglo-Saxon ecclesiastical settlement in Ireland. His connection has been celebrated in both Carlow and Luxembourg in June 2017. He is one of Europe’s most important saints, embarked on a mission to the continent from Carlow in AD 690 and this exhibition explores his enormous impact on the Netherlands, Germany & Luxembourg. Every year the town of Echternach, Luxembourg hosts an annual ‘hopping procession’, which has UNESCO World Heritage Status, in his honour. See a copy of St. Willibrord’s own hand writing, the oldest datable signature of an English person, written on a book from county Carlow. View samples of the beautiful manuscripts that were produced in Echternach. The method of making a manuscript is shown in detail, from producing the inks and the vellum to how the letters and designs were laid out. Due to emergency works on a burst water main on the Carlow Road, Tullow, Co. Carlow the water serving St. Patrick’ Park, Rathsillan, Slaney View Drive, Gort na Howan, Graigowan and surrounding areas will be shut off between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. today Wednesday 21st November, 2018.

Rescheduled works - Planned Water Outage

Please be advised that due to unforeseen circumstances essential water mains works planned for the water mains serving Inis Gardens,  Poe’s Hill, Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow have been rescheduled.  Works will now take place on Thursday 22nd November from 10am to 2pm and the water mains serving Inis Gardens will be shut off during this time.

Planned Water Outage - Bagenalstown

Planned Water Outage - Bagenalstown

Tuesday 20th/Wednesday 21st November 2018.

Please be advised that Coffey Northumbrian Ltd. on behalf of Irish Water and Carlow County Council are carrying out planned Watermain Rehabilitation works in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow.

As part of these works the following shutdowns will apply:

The watermain serving properties at Kilcarrig Street, Pairc Muire, and the Town Centre in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow will be shut off between the hours of 10:00 pm Tuesday 20th and 6:00 am on Wednesday, 21st November, 2018.

The watermain serving the Bagenalstown Business Park on the Royal Oak Road, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow will be shut off between the hours of 02:00am to 06:00am on Wednesday 21st November 2018.



Carlow County Council and Irish Water apologise for any inconvenience caused.
