Irish Water customers in the Waterford City and surrounding areas of Tramore and Dunmore East are likely to experience discolouration in the water supply over the coming 36 hours as a result of a significant event at the East Waterford water treatment works in Kilmeaden. Customers are advised that the water is safe to drink.

On the advice of the Health Service Executive and as a precautionary measure due to power outages caused by extreme weather, a Boil Water Notice was imposed on the Grallagh PWS on the 1st March 2018. Irish Water and Waterford County Council wishes to notify consumers that following the receipt of satisfactory monitoring results, on the advice of the Health Service Executive, Irish Water and the Council are now in a position to remove the boil water notice with immediate effect. Everyone on the Grallagh Public Water Supply Scheme can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.
