Roscommon County Council and Irish Water wish to advise customers served by the Knockcroghery Water Supply Scheme that following areas on this scheme may experience disruption to water supply today Friday 21st April 2017 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. approximately due burst water main in the area. 

The areas affected are as follows: 

Knockcroghery Village

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Roscommon County Council that the water supply served by Ballinlough Loughglynn public water scheme is contaminated with Cryptosporidium. On the advice of the Health Service Executive, a is being issued. Accordingly, in the interest of public health, it is recommended that all users on the Ballinlough Loughglynn water scheme boil water before use.

Water must be boiled for:
  • Drinking

  • Drinks made with water

  • Preparation of salads and similar foods, which are not cooked prior to eating

  • Brushing of teeth

  • Making of ice
Areas Affected include Ballinlough, Cloonfad, Trien, Cloonkeen, Cloonbunny, Silverfield, Cloonagh, Tonragee, Garanlahan Lowberry and all townlands surrounding these. Semi Private Group schemes served by the public water supply are also affected.
