New Traffic System: South Circular Road, Limerick

New Traffic System: South Circular Road, Limerick

Limerick City & County Council advise that a new one way traffic system will commence operation at South Circular Road from its junction with Quin Street to its junction with St. Gerard Street and Alphonsus Street Limerick on Wednesday 9th May 2018 at 12 noon.

Vehicular traffic will be prohibited entry from Upper Henry Street (L-10398-0), Alphonsus Street (10396-1) and St. Gerard Street (L-10397) to the South Circular.

South Circular Road will be one way from its junction with Ashbourne Avenue (L-10431-2)/ New Street (L-10433-0) to its junction with Upper Henry Street (L-10398-0).

A vehicle weight restriction (3 Tonne) will apply.

On Street disc parking system will continue to operate.

Emergency road closure on Bishops Quay & Howley’s Quay (R527) (between Lower Cecil Street & Shannon Street), Tuesday 1st May 2018 from 6.30pm to Midnight.

Limerick City & County Council advise that the above Emergency Road Closure will operate for all vehicular traffic.

The emergency road closure is necessary to enable repair to traffic bollard(s) apparatus.

Local Diversions will be sign posted at Shannon Bridge Roundabout, Lower Cecil Street and Shannon street from Henry Street.

Emergency service vehicle access will be available at all times.

There is no access via Lewis Lane to Silver Street while the work is taking place, an alternative route is available via St. Johns Place. There is limited pedestrian access to rear of Bank of Ireland.Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Roadworks: N21, east of Abbeyfeale

Roadworks: N21, east of Abbeyfeale

Lane closure will result in one-way operation from Thursday 10th May 2018 to Friday 22nd June 2018.

Limerick City and County Council advise road users and businesses that due to culvert replacement works on the N21 just east of Abbeyfeale, a section of the N21 will be reduced to single lane traffic during the above period.

A stop/go or single lane traffic light system will be in place for the duration.

Limerick City and County Council will endeavour to ensure that disruption to the flow of traffic on the N21 is kept to a minimum.

The speed limit along this route will be reduced to 60km/h, signs will be installed.

The duration of the works is estimated to be 6 weeks.
