Rich in symbolism the piece was created by Peadar Lamb, an artist working primarily in the medium of stained glass for over twenty years, using hand-made glass and a variety of techniques which have changed little over the centuries. The Quiet Revolution Exhibition has been developed in association with the E.S.B.. Admission is free.

Alterations to Draft Gorey Local Area Plan

Proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Gorey Town and Environs Local Area Plan 2017-2023

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 20 (3) (e) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended) that Wexford County Council proposes to make Material Alterations to the Draft Gorey Town and Environs Local Area Plan 2017-2023.

The Proposed Material Alterations document is accompanied by a Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report on the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing the proposed material alterations prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 (as amended).  An Appropriate Assessment Screening Report was also prepared in accordance with Part XAB of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). The Planning Authority determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment or an Appropriate Assessment was not required to be carried out for any of the Proposed Material Alterations. 

A copy of the Proposed Material Alterations, Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report and Appropriate Assessment Screening Report will be on public display from Wednesday, 1st February 2017 to Thursday, 2nd March 2017 and can be inspected at the following locations:

  • Planning Reception, Planning Department, Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn, Wexford during office opening hours of: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm (Bank Holidays and Public Holidays excepted).
  • Gorey Municipal District Office, Civic Square, The Avenue, Gorey Town during office opening hours of: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 5.00pm (Bank Holidays and Public Holidays excepted).
  • Gorey Public Library, Civic Square, The Avenue, Gorey Town during opening hours of: Monday and Saturday 10.30am to 5.30pm (closed between 1.00pm and 2.00pm), Tuesday and Thursday 10.30am to 9.00pm, Wednesday and Friday 10.30am-5.30pm (Closed on the Saturdays and Mondays of Bank Holiday weekends).
Written submissions and observations with respect to the Proposed Material Alterations, Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening Report and Appropriate Assessment Screening Report are invited from members of the public and other interested parties and can be made between Wednesday, 1st February 2017 and 4pm on Thursday, 2nd March 2017.

When making a submission or observation, please state if the views expressed are personal or are being made on behalf of an organisation. If views of an organisation are being submitted, it should be made clear which organisation is being represented.

Submissions and observations may be made available to the public.

The Proposed Material Alterations and Screening Reports are available to download free of charge from www.wexfordcoco.ie. Copies may also be obtained from the Planning Department, Wexford County Council as follows: CD copy free of charge, Hard copy €5
